Take Five In Bali

Entering an unfamiliar state of consciousness is the ultimate escape. Carmen Jenner discovered the ideal diversion from reality at Fivelements, Puri Ahimsa in Bali’s hilltop town of Ubud.
M y day begins with a breakfast of sweet banana crepes wrapped around avocado, mango cream and sliced bananas topped with a fresh fruit compote and chocolate cream, followed by a flower facial tonic and virgin coconut oil body scrub, and then a recline in a private bath house lit by chromo- therapy lighting. All of these activities occur by the rambling rapids of the Ayung River. Fivelements certainly dispels the myth that health retreats are grueling. The treatment menu is extensive from an intoxicating chocolate body scrub to alternative healing methods like aquatic bodywork for womb trauma and tantra yoga for personalized energy. There are just nine luxury suites that face out towards lush jungle with verandas overlooking the water.
The menu is raw living vegan, which is based on consuming living plant based foods in their original raw state to retain vital nutrients including vitamins, minerals, amino acids and oxygen. The live enzymes in raw food improve food digestion, repair cellular damage and create billions of healthy new cells every day. Most importantly, the food is tasty – meals include zucchini pappardelle alfredo with shaved zucchini noodles tossed lightly with creamy cashew sauce, olives, capers, and cherry tomatoes
