The question is, are we willing to face uncomfortable truths to do it? Luckily, Dr. Akilah Cadet is, and with Change Cadet, she’s dead set on creating an equitable revolution.

or Dr. Akilah Cadet, health and wellness aren't just trendy terms; they’re her way of life. As a Black

disabled woman, Dr. Cadet spends her life carving room for belonging into every available space. She’s employed her skills in brand management to lead her very own consulting firm, Change Cadet, where she rebuilds the cultural structures of companies all over the globe. Working with a long list of brands, Dr. Cadet helps to ensure work spaces include everyone— particularly all oppressed people normally overlooked. Dr. Cadet’s academic achievements celebrate everything that makes her unique. She’s earned her Bachelor’s, Masters, and Doctorate, all related to health science. Like a superhero, she’s using her health expertise for good. Dr. Cadet showcases her bright intelligence in consultations, podcasts, and documentaries, including her brand-new book White Supremacy Is All Around: Notes From a Black Disabled Woman in a White World. From her representation of Ehlers- Danlos syndrome to her appearance on the Forbes Next 1000 Entrepreneur list, Dr. Cadet has solidified herself as an unshakeable force and a leader in the movement for complete inclusivity. Intuitively understanding that there’s no health and wellness without intersectionality, Dr. Cadet demands that everyone be part of the conversation to find better solutions for all overlooked, marginalized groups. Whether the biases we hold are conscious or unconscious, Change Cadet and Dr. Cadet herself are here to hold all of us accountable for them. There’s no denying the impactful strength of our communities when they’re blended equitably. Despite its imperfections, living in the United States gives us the opportunity and the ability to unite for a common purpose. ,connection.
