Filmmaking in Africa offers an even more uniquely interesting perspective on the industry. Fueled by the continent’s wealth of rich and lush culture coupled with leagues of exotic scenery, industry professionals are able to express their artistic vision much more emphatically and substantially. One such industry professional is the contagiously upbeat Kwesi Botchway, a Ghanaian filmmaker currently making waves in the industry.

DELVING INTO THE PROFESSION Botchway’s journey up the ladder of this inventive vocation began about a decade ago. Before that, the young entrepreneur initially took to the arts as a graphic designer in his early teens while still in junior high. Botchway’s early career choice may have been influenced by his elder brothers, who themselves were graphic designers. However, his love for storytelling could not be contained, eventually leading him to pick up a camera in 2015. Having applied his hands to the craft, Botchway couldn’t help but fall into the entrancing allure of photograhy When asked about his reasons for delving fully into the industry, he explained that, to him, filmmaking is a more diverse and informative way of telling stories.
