up a large number of collectors, and having really good shows—that really made me think about what I’m doing and get myself organised and serious about it. Together, we’ve had joint shows and we’ve had solo shows, and we support each other. We’ve got a really good circle of friends who are painters. Painting really is our life here at home. We don’t share a studio and we’ll talk about that. We live in the house, which is basically a large studio with the kitchen and the bathroom. And every room has got something happening in it depending on what’s going on. When there are large commissions, then I’m Susan’s studio assistant, making canvases, preparing stuff, getting materials, then crating, shipping, and delivering. So sometimes, when she’s really, really, busy, then I just end up working
me to artists, to textures, and that really helped me learn over the last 20 years.
