After graduating from university, George moved to San Francisco on a whim. In those early days, George started working odd jobs at retail stores. Eventually, he started working at The Custom Shop, owned by Mortimer Levitt. George recalls, “I was a stupid kid, but I was really good at making seasoned gentlemen look good and feel good in garments.” Eventually, his skillset led George at a young age to think “Why am I doing this for someone else? Why am I not doing this for me?” That idea
