Autumn 24 Full The Entrepreneurial Spirit Issue Final

b egan researching was cut short by the war on drugs that came about in response to the anti-war and hippie movements of the time. After decades of stigma, we're in the middle of the third wave, where scientists and everyday citizens are returning to psychedelics to treat a myriad of mental ailments, from ADHD to PTSD and depression. I n addition to her work with SuperMush, Schaper helped start the Microdosing Collective, a non- profit centered around a passion for improving access to safe microdosing products. Schaper highlights that much of the policy and conversation around psychedelic legalization and use in mental psychedelics like LSD, psilocybin, and mescaline for their potential in treating mental health conditions. The movement's progress health treatment is centered around supervised/guided macro dosing and largely ignores the many benefits of microdosing. The Microdosing Collective has spent the last few years dedicating time and resources toward education around psychedelics and microdosing and lobbying for policy

change, specifically in California, to give citizens legal access to microdosing. Whether advocating for policy change or pioneering functional mushroom products, Schaper prioritizes community betterment through fungi. The SuperMush team firmly believes that modern society is solitary and, therefore, broken. We are not meant to live in isolation and communicate from behind a screen. So, SuperMush prioritizes community. Labeling themselves the "Red Bull of Mushrooms," SuperMush eagerly puts on in-person events to foster a community that is passionate about health and wellness. Schaper states, "SuperMush is very much a community-focused brand, and community is one of the best things to help people with their mental health." Whether you're searching for mental clarity or your daily pick me up, mushrooms may be the answer. Companies like SuperMush and the Microdosing Collective, with innovative leaders like Alli Schaper, are waking the masses up to the transformative powers of fungi.
